Frequently asked questions.

What kind of expenses am I responsible for?

My rates cover the cost to design and get your website up and running. After that you are responsible for making payments directly to Squarespace to keep your domain active and continue to be hosted on their platform. This cost can range anywhere from $20-$50 per month* depending on the level of capabilities you want. You can choose to move or cancel your website at any time once ownership is transferred to you.

*Monthly hosting and domain fees are determined by Squarespace and are subject to change.

What content do I have to provide in order to get my website started?

This is something we will discuss on an individual basis and can also factor into pricing. Do you have copy already written? Do you have images? Are you transferring your website to a new platform or starting from scratch? Whatever you have already is helpful but I am also happy to provide everything for you if all you have is an idea.

Will I have to hire someone to maintain my website after it’s built?

No! I use user-friendly content management platforms for this reason. Once your website is built I’ll show you how to navigate the system so you can make updates on your own. If you need any help, 24/7 customer service is included in your monthly hosting fee. Alternatively I am happy to make updates to your site down the road for an additional cost.

Can you custom code my website?

I am currently not equipped to build a custom coded website. I work exclusively with content management systems. Right now my platform of choice is Squarespace because I love the level of capabilities, ease of use for clients, and beautiful end results it can provide. As a Squarespace Circle member I also have membership discounts I can pass down to you. If there is another platform you prefer, I am happy to discuss further.

What does the payment process look like?

Once we’ve spoken via phone or email and you’ve provided all the content you want included, I’ll send you an agreement to sign and an invoice for 50% of your total. Once you’ve signed, returned, and completed payment work on your site will begin.

After you’ve signed off on final approval and are ready to launch your site, you’ll receive a final invoice for the remaining 50%. Once paid, complete ownership of your site will be transferred to you, you’ll make your first membership payment directly to Squarespace and you’re good to go!
